Every organization must evolve to remain viable, resilient and sustainable, by adapting to technological changes and new management approaches. As such, the GPEC (Provisional management of jobs and skills) is an effective lever to achieve this objective. It involves several mechanisms and requires an internal diagnosis to evaluate the available resources and their potential for adaptation. These resources are dynamic capabilities that can be reconfigured, coordinated, learned and integrated. As such, through an extensive literature search, this paper aims to synthesize this knowledge by proposing a new model of GPEC, which is based on the theory of dynamic capabilities and consolidates different knowledge on the indicators to be measured and the desired goals. This model is both theoretical and managerial, as it provides a global framework for understanding SCP as a process, reinforcing different theories, and can be applied to all organizations to assess their adaptive potential and measure the gaps that need to be filled to achieve the set objectives. Thanks to this model, managers can concretely identify the actions to be implemented to promote the development and success of their company. In sum, this paper aims to show that GPEC, implemented through an integrative model, is an essential strategic tool to ensure the viability and sustainability of organizations, and that its use can lead to significant competitive advantages.
