Abstract

Sovereign funds (SF) have established their notoriety on the scale of all continents. Africa is not the rest and seems to attract these investors in search of new investment opportunities.

We aim, through this work, to shed light on the dynamics and role of SF in promoting development in Africa.

Our approach is based on the analysis of a large literature review concerning the creation, functioning and adequacy of the investment strategies of SF to the development challenges of the continent.

Our analysis concludes that SF have undeniably the financial potential able to satisfy the continent's financing needs. However, the success of such a challenge depends on the capacity of African countries to put in place a business environment secure and incentive
