Perceived as micro-enterprises whose main role is to strengthen and develop Beninese agriculture for the purpose of sustained growth, several agripreneurs have been encouraged to settle after completing their diploma training. However, after a few years of operation, the results of their activities remain mixed as to the expected success of this development mechanism. To this end, this study proposes to determine the factors that can influence their success. Using survey data from a sample of 72 agripreneurs, an econometric specification revealed that the success of young Beninese graduates in agripreneurship depends essentially on gender, geographical area of exercise, social capital at start-up, state aid in terms of equipment and support for NGOs. On the other hand, this specification establishes that the high level of education, belonging to professional networks, as well as the support and advice of the State negatively affect their success.
