Industrialization in Burkina Faso: state of play of technological autonomy in industrial companies and prospects for 2063

Abstract

Résumé

Après un aperçu sur l’industrialisation en Afrique à travers la recherche documentaire, nous avons appréhendé dans une posture épistémologique constructiviste, l’évaluation l’impact des innovations technologiques sur la performance des entreprises industrielles au Burkina Faso grâce à des enquêtes et entretien avec des professionnels. Nous avons opté pour cette posture parce que nous cherchons à consolider des avis conciliés sur le sujet.

De façon spécifique, nous avons fait un état des lieux de l’autonomie technologique dans les entreprises industrielles faire l’état des lieux des réformes entreprises par l’État burkinabè en vue de rendre disponible les technologies de production/transformation adaptées aux entreprises au Burkina Faso et fait une analyse de l’innovation technologique comme facteur de résilience (réponses aux chocs extérieurs et conjoncturels) au Burkina Faso.

Nous avons pu conclure que le Burkina Faso renferme beaucoup d’entreprises qui ne sont pas suffisamment bien implantées par manque de ressources technologiques adéquates de façon permanente.

Conscientes de ces insuffisances, les autorités ont élaboré des réformes pour rendre disponibles les technologies de production/transformation adaptées à leur situation.

Aussi, il convient pour tous les acteurs d’adopter une démarche de Recherche-Développement alliant innovations technologiques, administratives et organisationnelles afin de rendre les entreprises résilientes.

Ainsi, à l’horizon 2063, un grand espoir est permis quant au décollage industriel du Burkina Faso, surtout dans le domaine agroalimentaire.

Abstract

After an overview of industrialization in Africa through documentary research, we understood, in a constructivist epistemological posture, the evaluation of the impact of technological innovations on the performance of industrial companies in Burkina Faso thanks to surveys and interviews with professionals. We have opted for this position because we seek to consolidate reconciled opinions on the subject.

Specifically, we took stock of technological autonomy in industrial companies and took stock of the reforms undertaken by the Burkinabe State with a view to making available production/transformation technologies adapted to companies in Burkina Faso. Faso and analyzes technological innovation as a factor of resilience (responses to external and cyclical shocks) in Burkina Faso.

We were able to conclude that Burkina Faso contains many companies which are not sufficiently well established due to lack of adequate technological resources on a permanent basis. Aware of these inadequacies, the authorities have developed reforms to make available production/processing technologies adapted to their situation.

Also, it is appropriate for all stakeholders to adopt a Research-Development approach combining technological, administrative and organizational innovations in order to make companies resilient.

Thus, by 2063, there is great hope for the industrial take-off of Burkina Faso, especially in the agri-food sector.
