Dynamiques économiques et urbanistiques dans la couronne Est de Casablanca : une approche qualitative fondée sur l’analyse thématique

Cet article propose une analyse qualitative des dynamiques économiques et urbanistiques à l’œuvre dans la couronne Est de Casablanca, en s’appuyant exclusivement sur une analyse thématique de données issues d’entretiens semi-directifs. La recherche s’inscrit dans un paradigme interprétativiste et mobilise une approche qualitative visant à comprendre les représentations, les perceptions et les pratiques des acteurs locaux impliqués dans les processus d’urbanisation et de développement territorial.

Le corpus empirique repose sur dix-sept entretiens réalisés auprès d’acteurs institutionnels, professionnels, techniques et associatifs intervenant dans la province de Benslimane et ses environs. Après retranscription intégrale des entretiens, une analyse thématique de contenu a été conduite à l’aide du logiciel Nvivo, permettant l’identification, le codage et la structuration des thèmes récurrents. Les résultats mettent en évidence cinq axes thématiques majeurs relatifs à la gouvernance territoriale, aux dynamiques urbaines, aux enjeux économiques et environnementaux du développement durable, aux projets d’aménagement ainsi qu’aux perspectives d’évolution du territoire.

La principale conclusion de l’étude est que la couronne Est de Casablanca souffre d’un déficit de gouvernance intégrée, où les projets d’aménagement, bien que nombreux, peinent à s’inscrire dans une vision territoriale cohérente et durable

Abstract

this article presents a qualitative analysis of the economic and urban dynamics at work in the eastern periphery of Casablanca, relying exclusively on a thematic analysis of data derived from semi-structured interviews. The research is grounded in an interpretivist paradigm and adopts a qualitative approach aimed at understanding the representations, perceptions, and practices of local actors involved in processes of urbanization and territorial development.

The empirical corpus is based on seventeen interviews conducted with institutional, professional, technical, and civil society actors operating in the province of Benslimane and its surrounding areas. Following the full transcription of the interviews, a thematic content analysis was carried out using NVivo software, enabling the identification, coding, and structuring of recurring themes. The findings highlight five major thematic axes related to territorial governance, urban dynamics, the economic and environmental challenges of sustainable development, planning projects, and future territorial development perspectives.

The main conclusion of the study is that the eastern periphery of Casablanca suffers from a lack of integrated governance, where development projects, although numerous, struggle to fit within a coherent and sustainable territorial vision.
